Infrastructure / Systems Operations Engineer

At ZIGChain, we're designing the next generation of blockchain infrastructure, leveraging decentralized technologies for enhanced security, scalability and interoperability. Our mission is to empower people everywhere through transparent, decentralized systems that drive financial freedom. ZIGChain is a Layer 1 blockchain focused on unlocking financial opportunities for everyone, regardless of their income, location or level of knowledge. We're looking for a junior-to-mid systems and infrastructure engineer to take on the day-to-day operation of our Linux, AWS, and blockchain-node infrastructure. You'll start by owning routine administration and monitoring, and grow into more of our infrastructure-as-code and node-operations work over time. This is a hands-on operations role with a clear path to broader responsibility, and a great fit for someone with solid fundamentals who wants to deepen their cloud and infrastructure skills in a real production environment. Requirements What You'll Do • Operate and maintain our Linux, AWS, and blockchain-node infrastructure on a day-to-day basis. • Own routine administration, monitoring, and troubleshooting of services and networking. • Contribute to our infrastructure-as-code work with Terraform, growing your ownership over time. • Support blockchain node operations across our ecosystem. • Automate recurring tasks and diagnostics through scripting. • Help keep our systems secure, patched, and running smoothly. Requirements Must-Haves: • Linux administration: CLI fluency, systemd, package management, log analysis, and troubleshooting of services and networking. • Shell scripting (Bash) for automation and diagnostics. • Working knowledge of core AWS services: EC2, VPC, IAM, S3, CloudWatch, and load balancers (ELB/ALB). You should be able to operate and debug them, not necessarily architect them. • Terraform at a working level: you have authored and applied configurations and understand state and the plan/apply cycle. Prior Terraform experience on any cloud is fine, it doesn't need to be AWS. • Networking fundamentals: TCP/IP, DNS, SSH, firewalls and security groups. • Git: comfortable with the everyday branch/commit/PR workflow. • Sound credential and access hygiene: proper SSH key handling, least-privilege IAM, keeping secrets out of code and repositories, and keeping systems patched. Cool-to-Haves: • Terraform beyond the basics: modules, remote state, multi-environment setups. • Blockchain node experience, whether with Cosmos specifically or another chain. • Docker; Kubernetes exposure is a plus. • Monitoring and observability tools (Prometheus, Grafana). • Python for tooling beyond Bash. • CI/CD exposure. Soft Skills • Accountability: you own your work and communicate openly when something goes wrong, focusing on fixing it rather than explaining it away. • Honesty and candor: you speak up for what's good for the team, even when it's not the easiest thing to say. • A self-taught instinct: you're comfortable figuring things out on your own and genuinely enjoy learning, since much of this role is grown into rather than known on day one. • Collaborative team player, self-directed and comfortable working autonomously in remote environments. What We Offer • Competitive annual salary ranging from $40,000.00 to $50,000.00 (USD) depending on seniority. • 15% extra to the salary in ZIGs tokens as part of the compensation package. • Fully remote work environment. • Opportunity to work in a cutting-edge industry. • Collaborative and inclusive work culture. • Professional growth and development opportunities. Why Join ZIGChain? • Impact, help operate and strengthen the core infrastructure that powers a decentralised, interoperable financial future, • Innovation, work with a cutting-edge tech stack in a space that rewards experimentation and creativity, • Ownership, take real responsibility for systems that matter from your first weeks, with a clear path to more, • Growth, join a team that values learning, autonomy and technical excellence at every level. Our Core Values At ZIGChain we don't just build blockchain technology, we build a culture rooted in five values that shape how we work every day. • Extreme Ownership: we close the loop. Work ends shipped, killed, or explicitly handed off, and we escalate when blocked instead of going silent, • Heroes Don't Scale: we step up when the moment demands it, then build the processes, workflows and agents that prevent the next crisis, • Excellence: excellence is what ships. Quality and time are fixed, scope flexes, and we aim to deliver work that becomes the reference others measure against, • Strategic Intelligence: we think in second and third orders, naming downstream consequences before committing and choosing speed or depth as the moment requires, • The Org Is AI: AI executes work and holds the system while we give it direction. Building and orchestrating agents is basic literacy here. These values drive how we work, grow and make an impact, and we're inviting you to be part of it. Apply now! Highlights Own the day-to-day of ZIGChain's Linux, AWS and node infrastructure, and grow into IaC and node operations. Fully remote, real production environment, real responsibility.
